Manufacturers

There are few harp makers in Cambodia because the instrument was only reconstituted for the first time in 2013. We highlight them here with some of their instruments.

Leng Pohy

Leng Pohy is based in Siem Reap. He is the founder of Authentic Khmer Sculpture. Since 1998, his workshop specializes in stone and wood carving of all sizes.

In 2016, he started to carve some instruments for Sounds of Angkor and finally became one of our main partners making the Angkorian harps. He is now very involved and creative.

Thean Nga

Thean Nga is based in Siem Reap. He makes various instruments for Sounds of Angkor and in particular, for what interests us here, the pre-Angkorian harps.

Keo Sonan Kavei & Krang Sila

Keo Sonan Kavei and Krang Sila are based in Phnom Penh working in the same workshop. They were our first partners for the reconstruction of the pre-Angkorian and Angkorian harps. They made the first harps in 2013 at the initiative of Patrick Kersalé.

Other partners

Philippe Brousseau

In addition to musical instrument sculpture, we also have other partners who assist with fine art or decorative work.

Philippe Brousseau stayed in Siem Reap. He is the founder and director of  Jayav Art, a professional art workshop. He helps to decorate the harp!

Éric Stocker

Éric Stocker is based on Siem Reap. He is one of the best laquer in the world. He sublimates our harps with Cambodian natural lacquer and gold sheet.
